Secrets I’ve learned from >40 years’ thriving through all levels of corporate life

We all face challenges in our private and professional lives. Finding ways to overcome or mitigate those challenges enables us to continue moving forward. By doing this, we lessen the chance of losing focus on the things that truly matter.

I’ve encountered numerous setbacks and disappointment, only to bounce back even stronger and achieve successive new highs each time.
At age 25, newly married and during construction of my first home, suddenly laid off, living from savings and Union handouts.

The ten years that followed consisted of highs and lows, traveling, working, and growing in exotic and remote locations, covering the width and breadth of Australia and New Zealand. From island resorts to iron ore smelters, from icy winters to sweltering summers. From the majestic countryside to barren plains. From starting my first business to being investigated for fraud and embezzlement.

Fast forward 15 more years and those swings continued. As did my learning and growth, with each stumble providing opportunities to pause and reflect, seeking ways to regroup and capitalize, before resuming that upward trajectory.

Turning 50, saw plenty to celebrate – a successful career, living the life of an expat, financially secure, but then came the lows and they were extreme. Aggressive cancer, divorce, and bankruptcy to name just three. The mental and physical challenges were immense.

However, I not only survived but have thrived. Living and working across the world, even becoming a global head of Learning. Along the way I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing enormously diverse cultures with wonderfully gifted people.

My journey in helping others has become my obsession. It’s what ignites the flame that gets me leaping out of bed each morning. There are few rewards greater than being able to utilize my learned skills and support executives who are stuck and unfortunately cannot find clarity. At the same they wish to overcome their career challenges and feel better defined. I feel blessed to work with each of them and cherish the moments as we co-create their future together.

Wayne Brown continues to research and study Organizational Psychology, Positive Psychology and Neuroscience, which support his science and evidence-based approach to transformative coaching with clients across the globe.

Who It Is For?

I work with mid-level executives in their 30’s and 40’s, who want to develop their career but are not clear on the steps to achieve that in today’s rapidly changing world. They are motivated and know what they want but lack the habits, discipline and leadership attributes required to get them to that next level. They report to senior executives while managing teams and face challenges from multiple stakeholders. These executives are not sure whom to turn to or confide in and need coaching to help them gain greater insight and create impact. During daily operations, they strive to manage their teams more efficiently and embed their unique leadership talent, opening the door to new career opportunities.

By working with Wayne, mid-level executives will develop a co-created personalized blueprint that builds clarity, confidence, and focus, empowering them to transition from where they currently are to where they want to be professionally. Rewriting Your Habits for a Better Career

WHAT you are getting: After completing the Module 1 webinar, associated exercises, and working with the coach, you will have a baseline understanding of how your stakeholders view you. You will have mapped your career vison and associated goals to be pursued in the coming six months. Additionally, you will have completed an exercise that helped you identify and prioritize a series of bad habits that you will now start to work on intentionally rewriting, one good habit at a time.

Right from the commencement of this program you dive straight into the deep end, gaining clarity on your career aspirations with a 360-degree assessment and career interview, before setting up a challenging 180-day goal sprint. You then learn about Habits while tracking, exploring, and prioritizing those that you will change. This sets you up for “Good Habit” Challenge #1.

Module TWO

Optimize Your Career Routine

WHAT you are getting: After completing the Module 2 webinar, associated exercises, and working with the coach, you will have reviewed and updated both challenges. The subsequent exercises that follow, investigate your daily routine and times when you operate in FLOW, and this enables the co-creation of your Daily Routine Buster. The tool helps you embed those new habits and incorporate the 12 critical, non-negotiables for sustained success. And finally, you will have selected the most suitable PBoD as your mentors and accountability partners along with a personal virtual assistant (VA). The choice whether to engage the VA is yours to make.

Description

With the second module there is no slowing down, instead we leverage and build on the activities from Module 1, by stripping apart your current daily routine. This enables you to reframe and optimize the approach to your day, targeting those times when you operate at your peak. During the process you learn how to incorporate technology and other resources that can support and provide guidance, fast tracking your career. The die has been cast and the future is beginning to unfold…

Description

Module 3 is the equivalent of bringing a leading team coach into your program. So far you have learned about habits, establishing routines, and leveraging additional resources to help fast track your career. Now we take a further step forward, by adding a critical element – continual learning development. This focuses entirely on growing your knowledge base around those career aspirations, so that you have both the actions to drive you and the information to support you.

WHAT you are getting: After completing the Module 4 webinar, associated exercises, and working with the coach you will be clear about what it means to be a Catalyst Leader and what you must change to align your actions with this future leadership style. For now, your aim should be to start trialing these actions and incorporating them into your daily routine. You’ll be able to use the 4R’s process when working with your PBoD and personal V.A. Stacking this on top of your Habit Challenge and Career goals will have you firing on all cylinders and ready for the next step – Value Creation.

Description

During the first three modules our focus was on preparing you – your internal habits, routines and learning development. For this and the following two modules the focus shifts to the external environment, looking at the larger picture and how you influence and create impact. You start by establishing a disruptors mindset and becoming a Change Champion, both hallmarks of the Catalyst Leader, so important for our current and future business. And we introduce you to the 4R’s concept “Rethink, reinvigorate, react and reinvent.” This ties in the two essential leadership traits of agility and adaptability.
